Zakuna was specified from the early design phase to deliver a fully integrated joinery package for this landmark Cat B fit-out. With a scope spanning staircases, internal doors, partitions, wall systems and feature artwork, this was a project where coordination and detail ruled. Working closely with the main contractor and subcontractor teams, we ensured flawless integration of access control, lighting and fire safety systems within every joinery element, delivering clean architecture and functional performance without compromise.
Boardroom Cabinetry & Display
At the heart of the HQ is a statement boardroom, designed to showcase the client’s extensive model collection. We manufactured and installed bespoke cabinetry in American Black Walnut, with floating glass shelves lit from the side by warm 3000K LEDs. Lockable glazed doors provide secure, clear display. Discreet top-box storage and integrated leather finishes to the ceiling and acoustic panels add tonal warmth and layered detail.
Lobby Feature Artwork & Ship Display Partitions
A four-metre-wide, nearly three-metre-high feature artwork welcomes visitors into the lobby. Evocative of a cargo vessel cutting through sea mist, the piece carries scale and presence that demanded precision engineering. Custom-built glass-fronted display units form elegant partitions for the client’s scale ship models, with full-height pivot doors offering dual-sided visibility while maintaining sharp sightlines and visual lightness throughout the space.
Ferro Porte M111 System Throughout
The Ferro Porte M111 system was installed across all internal doors and screens, including the stairwell, to unify the interior language. Slim frames, refined profiles and consistent sightlines deliver clarity and cohesion across all floors. The G104 pattern was applied to all timber doors and joinery, ensuring material and proportion consistency throughout the fit-out.
Staff Breakout Zones & Executive Offices
Wellbeing and connection were central to the brief. Zakuna’s bespoke mesh partitions zone the staff breakout space, maintaining light flow while creating structure and intimacy, with pool, darts and table tennis injecting balance into the working day. Each executive office features a unique material palette, from natural Black Walnut to stained American White Oak, reflecting the personalities of their occupants while maintaining architectural harmony.
A Fully Coordinated Joinery Package
PFE Express HQ demonstrates what Zakuna delivers on a major commercial Cat B fit-out: a single unified specification across doors, staircase, cabinetry, display systems and feature artwork, all detailed, manufactured and installed in-house. The result is a workplace where every architectural element speaks the same design language.
