Walnut Doors & Staircase – Reigate
New build project in Reigate – Bespoke colour matched products
We are delighted with this recent installation for a modern contemporary home in Reigate, where the colour matching of timbers was an essential requirement to create cohesion throughout the design. By sourcing all timber elements from carefully selected stock, we ensured a consistent warmth and richness that flows through every room.
Flush Plana P102 Interior Doors
Flush Plana P102 Interior Door Sets were chosen for their simplistic modern styling, a design that allows the natural character of the timber to speak for itself. The horizontal grain direction, enriched by the Walnut’s natural beauty, creates a warm and opulent feel that elevates each doorway into a design feature in its own right.
The modern architrave system AP66 with contrasting vertical grain is carefully matched to the door leaves, creating a subtle interplay of grain direction that adds visual depth and interest to the door surround. Chunky rectangular Premium LH108 door handles were chosen in black to finish the contemporary look, their bold profile complementing the clean lines of the flush door design.
Fire rated doors and pocket doors were also specified within the project, an important consideration for building regulation compliance and practical living. All doors were manufactured from the same wood source, ensuring wood grain and colour consistency across every opening. This attention to material continuity is a hallmark of Zakuna’s approach, guaranteeing that each door feels part of a unified design scheme rather than an isolated element.
Contender Staircase
Our award winning Contender Staircase was chosen with a contrasting black central string and Walnut step nose treads, designed to colour match the interior doors and the Walnut Herringbone flooring. This coordination between staircase and flooring creates a seamless visual flow as one moves through the property, reinforcing the sense of considered, holistic design.
The 10x40mm flat black steel spindles provide a striking contrast against the warm Walnut tones, their slender profiles allowing light to pass through the balustrade whilst maintaining a strong linear presence. Rectangular Walnut handrails complete the design, running up two flights of stairs with the same rich colour and grain that characterises the doors throughout. The result is an interior where every timber element speaks the same design language.
