Challenger 'Zig-Zag' Staircase - Renovation Project, Hertfordshire

Our Challenger Staircase with its 'Zig-Zag' design, creates a dramatic effect and an absolutely superb centrepiece for this open plan, renovation project.

The design is emphasised by the contrasting black steel strings from the sides and black square steel spindles, which blend seamlessly with the surrounding black structural beam and pillars, accentuating the openness of the internal space. The side fixed steel spindles reach full height as you approach the stairs.

Setting the 180 degree return and stepped half landing, fixed within the supporting pillars, looks visually stunning and an integral part of the design.

The Oak treads and closed risers are perfectly colour matched to the owner's hallway flooring and looks great from all angles, as this open staircase is viewed from a full 360 degrees.

The centralised Oak rectangular handrails are colour co-ordinated with the treads to complete the angular design.
