Topper Staircase with traditional elegance

We were delighted to be chosen for this charming renovation project on the shore of the River Tay in Broughty Ferry, Dundee, Scotland. Every detail has been designed to replicate the style of the existing traditional staircase, retained on the second floor above.

Working with award winning Chartered Architects, Wilson / Paul, our traditional Topper Staircase was specified with two 90 degree winders to create a seamless transition, as the treads meander around each corner. A curved inner string was designed to match the elegant design and flow of the original staircase.  

The closed rise stairs have 40mm Ash treads with a bullnose, and CNC milled traditional detailed beading to the underside of the overhang. Timber posts are also CNC milled with heritage detail and styling, all finished in White RAL 9016.

The Black RAL 9005 bespoke steel railings are designed with an elaborate and intricate detail, replicating the traditional styling. The twisted effect and decorative collars add a feeling of grandeur at every step.

The Black RAL 9005 Ash handrail is a traditional profile with a detailed design and curved elements to match the curved lines of the inner string.
