Design project to open up the interior space

We were delighted to be approached by one of our regular clients, asking for our help with design ideas to open up and improve the hallway of their existing property.

M101 FERRO PORTE DOORS & FIXED SCREEN

By suggesting the removal of an area of wall adjacent to the stairway, we have made the best possible use of the natural light available. Our Ferro Porte M101 Steel & Glass fixed screen is designed in 3 panels, which creates a stunning feature between the hallway and the lounge. This has been sympathetically designed to fit under the black oak beam, mixing heritage styling with modern engineered precision for a chic look.

A matching M101 Ferro Porte Rebated Double Door was also installed along the same wall, allowing even more light into the interior space. LH701 Black lever handles and visible hinges were specified, colour matched to the frame and the interior decor.

AWARD WINNING CONTENDER STAIRCASE

Our Contender Staircase looks stunning, its modern design and clean lines add a contemporary feel to this hallway.

The 180 degrees half landing configuration was specified with Jet Black, Ash 40mm step nose treads, glass balustrades with Jet Black button fixings and a Jet Black, Ash square handrail.

The Jet Black central steel spine is colour matched to the treads, 300mm x 300mm, folded to create a box structure, fixed to the floor and ceiling from inside the string, so there is no visible footplate.

The large box platform to the bottom step is a special feature which makes an inviting approach to the stairs.

LED lights are concealed under the stair treads and to the shadow gap detail around the box platform. The ambient lighting creates dramatic lines which emphasises the architecture of the stairs.

TIMBER DOORS EMULATING THE M101 FERRO PORTE DESIGN

Timber doors were designed to emulate the M101 Ferro Porte Steel & Glass styling whilst providing privacy with the solid timber, finished in Jet Black (RAL 9005) to match the interior decor. This creates an attractive design mix, complementing the glazed doors.
