Pewley Hill, Guildford

Zakuna were approached to supply a bespoke solution for two new build homes in Pewley Hill, Guildford to give cohesion and style throughout these luxury properties.

Initial meetings were held with the customer, builder and architect, to view plans and discuss product requirements, taking into account quality, specification, design, performance, budget, installation and environmental considerations. Our highly experienced project management team provided a personal service helping with advice to select products to enhance, add value and exude quality.

Production was scheduled to suit the build programme, with deliveries and fitting teams co-ordinated to install the windows and entrance doors first, to seal the properties.

FRONT ENTRANCE DOORS‍

The front doors were a dark blue providing a strong contrast to the exterior, making a bold statement and an inviting entrance. Stylish sidelights were specified to allow plenty of natural light into the hallways. These premium doors were chosen for their safety, strength, thermal qualities and flawless manufacture. The pre-hung door sets consist of a strong aluminium construction with triple glazing for thermal insulation (U value of 0.84 W/m2K), secure and reliable three point locking systems, adjustable hinges and stainless steel protective trims to the doors.

STAIRCASES‍

Being the focal point of the entrance hallways, the award winning Contender staircases looks simply stunning with a custom silver central spine and hardwood treads. This self supporting design means there is no requirement for newel posts and the frameless glass balustrades are fixed to the ends the treads for a minimalist, dramatic and elegant effect.

INTERNAL DOOR SETS‍

Our Flush Plana range of internal pre-hung door sets where chosen for their modern contemporary design, superior quality and high performance.

Each door set is crafted from the highest quality timber, characteristically solid core, flush doors, with the wood veneer grain in one direction and factory pre-hung for perfect alignment and closure. There are no visible fixings in the frame or architrave for a clean contemporary look.

A suite of single doors, pocket doors, fire-rated doors (rated to FD30) and glazed doors were chosen in Brown Ash and finished in Torino with a 10% gloss. A custom 2mm vertical groove was specified to accentuate the design with lever handles in Matt Nickel to complement surrounding fittings.

Each door is engineered for precision and includes premium features such as concealed hinges, flexible door seals, magnetic door latches and latch keeps which add to the minimal design and prevent slamming.

ENGINEERED WOOD FLOORING‍

Our engineered wood flooring was chosen throughout for practicality and durability, as well as being suitable for the under floor heating requirements. This luxury flooring system is constructed in three layers, designed to reduce natural wood deformation, so that the finished floor remains free from gaps and cracking, even with changing temperatures.

Multiple coats of acrylic lacquer with UV protection or natural oil provide a hard wearing finish and the 5G locking system ensures the flooring is easy to install, reducing the risk of any damage on site.

The flooring was chosen in ‘Polka’ and colour matched to the staircase treads and skirting throughout, which were also supplied.

WINDOWS‍

Aluminium Clad Timber Euro 78 Tilt & Turn Windows were custom designed and manufactured with a dual colour finish: white, internally to keep the clean lines of the interior, and a mid grey externally, to contrast perfectly with the render and wood cladding without being too harsh, giving the external appearance a softer finish.
